I’ve contemplated many times of how to introduce myself to the world of Medium. I took several moments to view other’s profiles. I even read an article that offered suggestions for introducing oneself on the platform. I decided to chart my own path.

Hi Everyone. Here are some things about me that I feel important enough to provide some insight into why I share what I share as a writer:

1. I was born and raised in a rural town within Lowcountry South Carolina (yeah, that’s a thing).

2. I lived under one roof with the best parents in the world…and nine other siblings (Yep! You read that right!).

3. I’m a PK!...a preacher’s kid. In my case, make preacher plural.

4. One of seven girls, I have combated and delivered a whirlwind of emotional battles.

5. Often referred to as the nicest of the clan, I’ve come to realize that I have championed locking away the chaos within.

6. I am married to the man the Creator carefully constructed---just for me; flaws and all.

7. I am a mother to three cocktails that beam with uninhibited beams of both parents; it’s so fascinating to witness! My bonus isn’t fond of me, and when I could have been proactive, I chose otherwise. As I’ve matured and reflected, I’ve cried about my decisions (or lack thereof).

8. I have in-laws that I care deeply about because I love my husband. Some say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. It’s true.

9. My mother still graces the earth with her physical presence, while her best friend exists in her heart (and mine). My attentive love for her enhances the craftmanship of the love I have for my soul mate. I have yet to make her heart smile in a way I’ve been longing to…it’s coming. I know it is.

10. My world has a different landscape now---one where only I’m allowed access to set the scenery, develop the plot, write the script…spectators are merely spectators.

11. I’m educated, but I refuse to be stoic. I will speak my language. If it doesn’t resonate, it simply doesn’t. I will continue to speak. The Creator assures me that those who are supposed to receive will receive. Any further thought is a waste of time.

12. I’ve delved into the financial and retail industries during my short-lived adventure outside the world of education. Customers usually discovered the disguise. Despite my success, I took Charles’ advice and returned to educating our youth. His wisdom rang clearer because his time on earth was coming to an end.

13. I believe that numbers speak to us.

14. I believe that religion suppresses us. Omnism hits differently now (it’s underlined in red; it isn’t fully accepted by the masses—yet). We are all important, and our cultures uniquely provide resources to validate this truth. Not one approach supersedes the other if the Creator is sought. (Don’t agree? That’s okay, too.)

15. I was taken advantage of at the age of five, and I didn’t say a word about it until the age of thirty-five. (Wow…I never did the math. Jesus began His ministry at age 30. 30 years---again, numbers speak.) It’s okay if you can’t hear them---yet!

16. Enlightenment is remembering who we truly are. Oftentimes, relationships will be severed. I’m okay with that now.

17. Writing has always been a passion—my escape on many levels.

18. I am ready now to write as if my life depends on it (because it does).

There. You. Have. It.

What I write and post could stem from any of these---or an article from New York Times---or my devotional---or a song I heard---or…you get it!

I’m niche-free.

I’m continuously freeing my mind of the programming that has kept me bound for entirely too long.

Walk with me…
